Mega Attack Rare Cards – A New Rarity for 2025
The most exciting addition is the introduction of "Mega Attack Rares" (MA Rares), a brand-new rarity exclusive to Mega Pokemon. MA Rares display the Pokemon's attack name boldly across the artwork, paying homage to the original Mega Pokemon style. English cards will feature Japanese attack names, while Japanese cards will use English attack names — a unique twist designed to appeal to collectors worldwide.
Mega Charizard ex in Phantasmal Flames – UK Release November 2025
The star reveal, Mega Charizard ex, will debut in Japan's Inferno X set on September 26, 2025. For English-speaking players, the card will appear in the Pokemon TCG: Phantasmal Flames set, releasing in November 2025 in the UK and worldwide. Phantasmal Flames will also include Mega Gengar ex and Mega Diancie ex.
Mega Dragonite ex and Oricorio ex Release Details
Mega Dragonite ex will launch in Japan's Mega Dream ex expansion in November 2025, with an English release expected shortly after. Oricorio ex has been confirmed but does not yet have a scheduled expansion in English.
