We have run this comparison on a lot of sets. We have never seen one look like this. Every single card in the 30th Celebration top ten has lost between 66% and 88% of its value in the six days since the set went on sale.
Last time we published this list we used PriceCharting for the before-release side. That was a mistake, and this is the corrected version: both figures now come from Pulse TCG, so we are comparing like with like. Pre-release is Pulse's last reading on 13 September. Now is 19 September.
Do that properly and the picture changes completely. There are no risers. The Futuristic Mewtwo ex went from £623 to £74. Sylveon ex peaked above £1,100 and sits at £66. Those pre-release prices were set by a handful of sales on leaked and early copies, and Pulse flags most of them as low availability. They were never real prices. Here is the ten as it stands today.

It never had the hype the top of the list had, and it still gave up three quarters of its value. That is how total the correction was.

£428.91Pulse, 13 SepYour new number one, and it got there by falling less than everything above it. Mew ex's special art was £429 on 13 September and is £135 today, down 69%. Three cards were worth more than it before release. None of them are now. It is also the most traded card of the ten on 19 September, and a card that trades is a card with a real price.
This is what happens when a set's prices are set before anyone can actually buy it. For two weeks in September the only 30th Celebration cards changing hands were leaked and early copies, a few sales each, and those few sales set the number everyone quoted. Then 16 September arrived, real boxes opened, and the whole set repriced in 72 hours. Nothing was wrong with the cards. The price discovery just had not happened yet.
Three cards went the other way. The RGB Secret Mews, numbered #R/RGB, #G/RGB and #B/RGB and illustrated by YOSHIROTTEN, are the only cards in the set that rose. Pulse has Red at £4,333.33, up from £2,909 on release day, Blue at £2,999.38 and Green at £2,424.19. We are not ranking them, and the reason matters: between them they have about four recorded sales. Every card in the ten trades in the dozens every single day. Four sales is not a market, it is the start of one, and we have just watched what happens to a price built on a handful of sales.
