The short answer

  • Destined Rivals is a Scarlet and Violet series set, released in English on 30 May 2025. Its Japanese counterpart is Glory of Team Rocket (SV10).
  • 244 numbered cards: 182 in the main set, numbered 001 to 182, plus 62 secret rares numbered 183 to 244.
  • The master set is 409 cards: the 244 numbered cards plus a reverse holo of each of the 165 Commons, Uncommons and Rares.
  • 17 ex cards are in the main set, 5 of them Team Rocket's, and 14 return as secret rares.
  • The chase is Team Rocket's Mewtwo ex Special Illustration Rare (231).

What Destined Rivals is

The set in a paragraph.

Destined Rivals is a Pokemon TCG: Scarlet and Violet series set that released in English on 30 May 2025, with the set code DRI. It brings back the trainer's Pokemon idea in a big way: Team Rocket's Pokemon on one side, and the Pokemon of rivals such as Arven, Cynthia, Ethan, Marnie and Steven on the other.

Its Japanese counterpart is Glory of Team Rocket (SV10). The headline cards are shared, but the numbering and some rarities differ, so use a checklist for the language you collect.

How many cards are in the Destined Rivals master set?

Where the reverse holos come in.

A master set is one of every numbered card plus every reverse holo version. In Destined Rivals, every Common, Uncommon and Rare in the main set has a reverse holo: that is 165 cards. The 17 Double Rare ex cards and all 62 secret rares do not.

So the Destined Rivals master set is the 244 numbered cards plus 165 reverse holos, 409 cards in all.

The reverse holos are the part people lose track of, because they share a number with the regular card. A checklist with a separate box for each version is the simplest fix.

What you need Cards
Main set, 001 to 182 182
Secret rares, 183 to 244 62
Reverse holos (Commons, Uncommons, Rares) 165
Master set 409

English set. Counts from our Destined Rivals card list.

What size binder for the Destined Rivals master set?

The quick check before you buy a binder.

The 409 card master set is bigger than a 9 pocket binder (360 slots), so it needs a 12 pocket binder (480 slots), which leaves 71 spare, or two binders.

If you only want the 244 numbered cards, without the reverse holos, a 9 pocket binder (360 slots) is enough.

Many collectors put each reverse holo straight after its regular card, so every pair sits side by side. Plan the pages before you start: it is much easier to leave space than to move a whole set later.

TipEvery size we print

Our printed binders come in 4 pocket (160 slots), 9 pocket (360 slots) and 12 pocket (480 slots), plus 4 pocket and 9 pocket toploader versions. Pick the size in the dropdown on the binder or the Master Set Bundle.

How to collect the Destined Rivals master set

A plan that works whether you open packs or buy singles.

Start with the list. The free Destined Rivals checklist has every card and every reverse holo, so you can tick off what you own today at no cost.

Then hold every gap open with placeholders. Each one marks a slot, so the binder looks complete in shape from the first day and you swap in the real card when you find it.

Finally, give it a home. The Destined Rivals Master Set Bundle puts the three together: your choice of Destined Rivals printed binder, the master set checklist and the full set of digital placeholders.
