A month ago, Pitch Black landed and the chase cards went straight to the moon. We ranked the ten most valuable on day one, one day after the English launch. Now the hype's worn off — so how did they actually hold up?
We re-pulled every price a month on. The headline: the whole board cooled. Launch-week prices have softened right across the list as supply caught up with demand — some gently, some hard. But there's a twist: graded data has finally arrived, and the PSA 10 premiums tell a very different story to the raw market.
Here's the ten, re-priced, with the movement since launch on every card. The pecking order held firm; the prices didn't.

The real headline is graded: a PSA 10 now clears £1,400. A month in, the raw price softened and the gem-mint market took off.
One month on, the takeaway is clear: Pitch Black's launch prices were a hype spike, and the raw market has settled roughly 15 to 37% lower across the board. That's not a crash — it's a young set finding its real level, which is exactly what week-one buyers should brace for.
The more interesting move is graded. A month ago there was no PSA 10 data at all; now the gem-mint premiums are enormous — the Darkrai Special Illustration Rare is £184 raw but over £1,400 in a PSA 10. If you pulled clean copies at launch, the value is increasingly in the slab, not the raw.
The cards worth backing are still the ones with a real fanbase, not just a rarity symbol — Morpeko barely moved, Zeraora and Gwynn held better than the pack.
