Pokemon's Big TCG Reveals: New Mega Attack Rares, the ex★ Series, a Movie and Worlds 2027

New Mega Attack Rares and more Pokemon TCG reveals: Mega Rayquaza, Mega Darkrai and Mega Greninja ex

Pokemon TCG News

Pokemon just dropped a wave of announcements around the Worlds closing ceremony, and there's plenty for TCG fans to unpack. Two upcoming sets got a tease, a brand-new series was named, an animated movie was revealed, and we found out where the 2027 World Championships are heading. Here's the lot in one place.

The headline for collectors: Mega Attack Rares are back. Pokemon teased Mega Lucario Z ex and Sigilyph ex from November's Aura Seeker, plus a set of new comic-book-style Mega Attack Rares from what looks like February's MEGA x MEGA Parade (Japan's next High Class Pack set). The Mega Attack Rare treatment first showed up in last year's Ascended Heroes.

Beyond the cards themselves, Pokemon named its next series: Pokemon ex★, presumably a new ex mechanic, with the legendary beasts Entei, Suicune and Raikou tipped to headline it. There's also a movie, Pokemon: Wild Card, coming in 2027, and Worlds 2027 is off to Singapore. Scroll on for every reveal, with the trailers.
